JOSEPH D. SMITH, PH.D

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

With over 25 years of experience in the chemical and petrochemical industry, and special expertise in gas flaring, Joseph has a strong background in flare design and testing plus performance analysis and optimization. Joseph also provides expert witness services related to gas flares, hydrocarbon production, and fossil fired equipment design and operation. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a PhD in Chemical Engineering and he currently teaches at the University of Missouri of Science and Technology to train tomorrow's engineers.

ZACHARY P. SMITH

CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER

Zach received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University-Idaho and has since gained valuable experience relating to combustion systems, specifically process burners and industrial flare systems. His involvement has been focused primarily on CFD modeling, while also having gained skill in testing of combustion systems and application engineering. Previous to this experience, Zach was responsible for the designing and fabrication of multiple bio-energy projects. Zach is passionate about technology and also the great outdoors.

TABER I. WILSON

DIRECTOR OF FLIGHT AND TRAINING

Taber received a B.A. in History from Brigham Young University and is currently enrolled in an MBA program with Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, specializing in the Aviation industry. A few years ago, Taber accomplished a life-long goal of becoming a pilot and earned his Private Pilot certificate. Since then he added the following FAA certificates: Commercial Airplane Single, Instrument, and Multi-engine land, Certified Flight Instructor with Single, Instrument, and Multi-Engine privileges, Advanced Ground Instructor, and Remote Pilot – sUAS. His work over the past several years in the emergency medical services field has given him personnel and training experience he uses to keep our clients educated on our services and equipment.

ROBERT E. JACKSON

CHIEF ENGINEER

Mr. Jackson has 30 years of experience in propulsion and combustion. He spent nearly 10 years in aerospace designing advanced propulsion systems for STOVL and Hypersonic aircraft systems. He has 20 years of experience in industrial combustion systems including: analyzing and optimizing combustion systems using numerous tools including CFD, supervision of laboratory facilities that analyzed combustion systems and fuels, and testing for emissions from various combustion systems including flares.

STEVE RUSAKIEWICZ

DIRECTOR OF QUALITY CONTROL

EvA’s newest team member received his degree in Electrical Engineering from Missouri S&T with an emphasis in power & energy. In addition to experience in power electronics, circuit analysis and programming, Steve is also an expert in public relations and business communication. He has been a champion of responsible environmental stewardship and green innovation for over 20 years, most of which was spent organizing and participating in public exhibition events designed to raise awareness and showcase environmentally-conscious technologies. In 2015, Steve served as director of public relations for the Missouri S&T Solar House Design Team. His dedication and tenacity in that role helped his team achieve their highest standing in 13 years at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Solar Decathlon. A long-time believer in the ability of technological pragmatism, Steve is looking forward to helping provide people everywhere with reliable, actionable data that may be used to help environmental policies maximize positive outcomes while minimizing cost and intrusiveness.
